Meet the Band
Mike Morgan has been playing music since the age of 15 and has been performing professionally for the last 15 years. His love for playing music started on the guitar and over time has expanded into a love for all things sound. While guitar and bass are the primary instruments for live performances, he is also very interested and passionate about live sound, recording, mixing and mastering studio music and teaching music. For him, there is nothing more exciting than the thrill of a live show or working with new people on different events to create long lasting memories for everyone involved. He is forever grateful to be able to share his love for performing with willing audiences across the country.
Collin Nordine has been a Drummer/Percussionist for almost 20 years playing in a multitude of musical settings. Including Progressive Rock, Funk, Ska, Reggae, Latin/World, Country, Jazz, and Metal. He has been an educator for 6 years teaching drums and percussion in the Chicago area, and has performed and recorded with grammy winning and nominated artists. With his backgrounds being more in the Latin/Jazz idiom, it lends a unique quality to the sound of the group.
Georgia Rae has had a love for the violin since the age 5. A lot of her enthusiasm as a child came from the joy it brought to her when she would play daily with her mom. The two of them would work together for the next 13 years to prepare for fiddle contests throughout the United States. She has won 7 state championships, and one national twin fiddle championship. At age 12 started performing with her family band to fund music lessons when her dad got laid off from his construction job. With performing came the opportunity to teach private lessons, helping her realize that teaching and performing were her passion. In High school, Georgia Rae studied online so that she could have more time to practice and find gigs. She unknowingly started paving a path towards independence and entrepreneurship, going all in and learning along the way. Georgia Rae is now a full time musician and teacher providing private lessons, workshops, and performing with many musical projects.
David Hannibal has been a musician all his life with experience playing many different instruments. After receiving a mandolin as a gift in his early college years he fell in love with this unique instrument. Jamming with friends is a great way to learn new songs and the mandolin adds a different sound to the music. After joining up with Mike and Collin to form The Box Band, making music has become a priority. As an artist he maintains that quality in his other work as a videographer and editor creating content for numerous entities. Music has always been his main passion and playing with The Box Band is a dream in reality.
